Chelsea trying to repair relationship with former boss

Chelsea chairman Bruce Buck has attempted to make peace with former manager Jose Mourinho after his exit in December.
The Portuguese remains one of the most legendary figures at Stamford Bridge despite a difficult end to his reign at the club this season, and Buck has made that clear with a gift and thank-you letter.
According to the Daily Telegraph, the Chelsea chief sent a replica of Mourinho’s two trophies from last season – the Premier League and Capital One Cup – to the 53-year-old’s London home.
Chelsea continue to assess several candidates to replace Mourinho as manager next season, with Jorge Sampaoli a leading contender alongside Italians Massimiliano Allegri and Antonio Conte.
