ENGLISH football has a new billionaire investor after a wealthy Jordanian family took over at lower league Bristol Rovers.
The Al-Qadi family announced on Friday they had bought 92 per cent of the League Two club's shares.
Discussions between the club and the family are thought to have been going since December with the official announcement made at the Memorial Stadium.
Wael Al-Qadi, 46, will now become the new president of the club.
Mr Al-Qadi said: "I've been a passionate football fan all of my life and I'm excited to be involved with Bristol Rovers, which has such an amazing heritage and loyal fan base.
"We really see the potential of this great club. Bristol Rovers has always been known as a family club and it's my family's wish to maintain that tradition."
INTER MILAN are trying to pull out of a deal that would bring Manchester City forward Stevan Jovetic on board on a permanent basis.
The Montenegrin forward, 26, is on loan at the San Siro – but the deal contained an obligation that he would join permanently after the 18-month stint.
The fee stands at £12million, but Inter are said to not want to pay that much for the City man after a disappointing campaign.
Jovetic has played 18 times in Serie A this season, finding the net just four times.
SLAVEN BILIC admits he is “gutted” that Andy Carroll is once again injured, writes CHARLIE WYETT.
The West Ham striker, whose team face Blackburn in the FA Cup on Sunday, is out for two weeks with a groin injury.
Bilic said: “Carroll not a big one, couple of weeks - it happens to him a lot. He can't get in a proper routine of games, we are gutted and he is gutted at situation.
“He felt it warming up (at Norwich) but played and made a huge impact, but after it turned out to be a minor injury, but still an injury.
“Valencia's ankle is not very stable. I still don't know if he will be back in one week.”
Bilic also admitted he does not like FA Cup replays – even though they beat Liverpool in the last round in a second game.
He said: “Are replays giving FA Cup more respect? No. I would get rid of them basically. One and only game.”

FA bosses are hoping to give the dates to three friendlies at Wembley, Manchester and in the North East.
For the Euros, England will be based in Chantilly. Before then, the Three Lions have a game lined up against Australia at either Sunderland or Newcastle.

BRIGHTON striker James Wilson is not returning to Manchester United.
Boss Chris Hughton said: “We’re glad he’s here for the season.”
