Voice artist Joe Alaskey – best known for providing the voice of Daffy Duck, Bugs Bunny and other Looney Tunes favourites – has died aged 63.
According to writer Mark Evanier Joe passed away in Los Angeles on Wednesday night after battling cancer.
Joe, who was born in New York in 1952, voiced a whole string of characters throughout his career – although he was best known for his Looney Tunes work, taking over the voices of a whole host of cartoon favourites after Mel Blanc’s death in 1989.
He voiced many of the classic characters from 1990-1995, as well as working on newer shows including Tiny Toon Adventures, for which he provided the voice of Plucky Duck.
As well as Daffy Duck and Bugs Bunny Alaskey voiced Sylvester, Tweety, Marvin The Martian, Foghorn Leghorn and others.
