If you ever rent out property on AirBnB, try and make sure the customer isn’t actually the neighbour you have beef with.
Otherwise, as Michelle Huang and her boyfriend Thomas Payne found out, things can get awkward.
They claim Sandeep Andre Hingorani, who owns different apartments in their block of flats, moved into their rental home using a fake name ‘Jim Tako’ in 2012.
He stayed there for ten months until the couple turned off the electricity to evict him, it was reported.
The couple has filed a complaint in San Francisco Superior Court.

Under local rules, tenants have a right to an ongoing month-to-month tenancy after 30 days, the San Francisco Chronicle reported.
Their neighbour stayed in the flat for around ten months, along with his mother and friend Piper D, it was reported.
In their court statement against Hingorani and his associates for fraud, tespassing and ejectment, the couple said the AirBnB tenants tried to cause ‘severe emotional distress’.
‘In particular, defendant Sandeep stated that he intended to drive plaintiffs from their property and to ‘inflict maximum pain” upon them,’ the complaint said.

But Hingorani himself accused the couple of harassment and creating an unsafe living environment by doing major construction without permits.
He said the couple was trying to force him out of the entire building and said he needed a convenient place to stay while work was being carried out on his own place.
The court heard the neighbours had squabbled over building repairs and finances.
Hingorani described the couple as bullies who are difficult to do business with, but said he does not hold a grudge against them, according to MailOnline.
He claimed the couple had a ‘stream’ of Airbnb customers before he moved in, causing hassle with noise and taking up parking spaces.
