Former pharmaceutical boss Martin Shkreli – aka the internet’s most hated man – has set himself a lofty new musical ambition in the wake of his recent Wu-Tang Clan purchase.
And this time around it’s Kanye West’s new album The Life Of Pablo he’s got his eye on.
But rather than just pick up a copy off iTunes – or similar – like the rest of us, he wants to ‘do a Wu-Tang’ on the record, and be the only person in the entire world to own a copy.
So much so that he’s approached the rapper with his request, offering him $10m for him not to release Pablo publicly.

Initially he just asked: ‘Can I buy your album out so it doesn’t get released publicly?’ but ultimately went for a more formal approach, drafting a letter which he shared via Twitter.
Here is my initial offer for the album. Thanks for your consideration and I look forward to your response

‘I have been a tremendous fan of your music for many years,’ he began, adding: ‘Specifically the album The College Dropout inspired me to succeed at a young age.
He went on to ask that Kanye ‘withhold’ the release of his new album and instead ‘sell this recording solely to me’ for the exorbitant sum.

As far as we’re aware – or certainly if Shrekli’s subsequent tweets are anything to go by – the rapper has yet to respond to the offer.
Kanye launched the album on Thursday night with a live event streamed from Madison Square Garden, where the album was played at the same time as his new fashion line was unveiled.
He’s also since confirmed that a couple of tracks will be added to the record, which is due out today.
