Desperate to get away from it all? Airbnb has a treehouse for that (Picture: Airbnb)
Apparently, we all just want to get away from it all and live in a treehouse.
For a week or so at least.
Airbnb has released a list of its top 10 most wish listed rental properties
and four of them are treehouses. Also making up the most wanted list
are a ‘seashell’ house in Isla Mujeres, Mexico and a Pirates of the
Caribbean getaway in California that boasts indoor waterfalls and pools
(but doesn’t allow parties. Sorry).
And as well as treehouses, the list reveals that we’re pretty fond of bedding down in igloos, vans, lighthouses and caves too.

Welcome to your very own suite of three connected treehouses, set
amongst lush greenery. The bedroom sleeps two and the mattress is
heated. Dreamy.
As one reviewer writes: ‘You just have to experience this to fully understand how amazing it is.’

Here you get a private pool and two king-size bedrooms. Plus, the architects live next door.
The view from your sea-shell-shaped bedroom isn’t bad either.

Another treehouse. This one offers a panoramic view of the
Monferrato hills, hidden among the fragrant linden trees, along with a
garden with solarium and a swimming pool.

The hot tub comes with a light show, there’s a guest tepee, and
outdoor bath, and indoor waterfalls. Pretty much what we imagine Jack
Sparrow’s house to look like.

If you’re more into your creature comforts, this mini-loft is right
in the middle of Rome. It also has a fancy pink bathroom. We’ll take it.

And if you’re looking to go totally off-grid, there’s always this
solar-powered house in the middle of the Californian desert. The boss
will never, ever find you.
