A severed human foot has been discovered by a dog walker in a park in Bath this morning.
The grim discovery was made around 8am when it was spotted lying beside a bush in the southern corner of Weston Park East.
Simon Clarke, a part time university lecturer, had been out walking his cocker spaniel, Ollie, with his partner Nicky Jefferies, when it was found.
The foot, that was covered in frost, was severed about four inches above the ankle, looked old and may have been dug up, he told the Bath Chronicle.

‘It was just like CSI,’ he said. ‘There were a few of us out walking our dogs and then a lady came running over to find us and said there’s a foot in the hedge.
‘Her dog was sniffing at it then she realised what it was. We all had a look at it and it was indeed a foot.
‘It’s almost certainly a human foot and it looks real as opposed to a fake foot that someone put there.’
The 52-year-old added: ‘It’s not as dramatic as it is on the telly.
‘There’s a certain sense that something may have happened but it’s quite surprising how much of a lack of drama there is.
‘It’s interesting rather than horrific, though everyone thought it clearly is a severed foot.’
Avon and Somerset Police are on the scene with the area cordoned off.
A spokesman said: ‘We are making enquiries into the report and will issue an update in due course.’
