Giving him a piece of their mind! After Kerione, an 18-year-old high school senior, shared a gorgeous picture of herself at prom via Twitter on April 23, an internet troll took it upon himself to compare the teen’s red and white mermaid dress to a piece of cheesecake. But an eagle-eyed tweeter who noticed the dis wasn’t going to let the jerk get away with it.
“Comparing someone to cheesecake is literally.…not even an insult.… I want someone to compare me to a cheesecake,” Kenna Sharp tweeted on April 24. Sharp crafted the clever hashtag #CompareYourselfToACheesecake2016, and other tweeters ended up following suit.
While the story is inspiring, just don’t call Sharp, 16, a
hero. "It was just a silly hashtag I came up with in the moment to
defend her and it just happened to turn into something huge,” she explained to Mashable.
“I’ve dealt with so much harassment and bullying online. It’s something
that doesn't even phase me anymore but when somebody else is being
attacked for things they shouldn't be attacked for, I feel extremely
inclined to come to their defense."
Kerione, who racked up over 4,000 retweets and
10,000 favorites for her photo, doesn’t seem to be phased by her hater.
“I’m trending yall,” she tweeted triumphantly.
