As Pope Francis wrapped up his trip to Washington D.C.,
China’s President Xi Jinping arrived in the city to meet with Barack
Obama and discuss a variety of issues. However, as Jinping arrived at
the White House, onlookers spotted something extremely strange outside
of the building, causing them to take pictures.
Yahoo! News
reported that on Friday, Jinping and Obama announced a landmark
agreement between the U.S. and China to combat climate change together
during a formal summit. As the two leaders spoke inside the West Wing,
protesters gathered outside of the White House in opposition to China’s
human rights violations, but there was just one issue – Jinping couldn’t
see them.
That’s right, our “commander”-in-chief apparently had giant
walls placed outside of the building to block Jinping’s view of the
demonstrators outside, and people captured the barricades in pictures.
Marion Smith posted one of the photos to Twitter and rightly stated the
placement of the walls to be a “bad move” that is pretty much an
“insult” to our nation.
The @WhiteHouse puts up screens to block #Xi's view of protestors during visit. Bad move. Insult to American values. pic.twitter.com/ktz6HERJnz— Marion Smith (@smithmarion) September 25, 2015
It’s funny, for years our nation fought against communism,
but now the person occupying the White House seems to cave to it every
opportunity he gets. Our nation was founded on free speech and the right
to peacefully assemble to address grievances, and Obama effectively
took that right away from the people outside of the White House today by
ensuring that anybody who mattered couldn’t see them. Just imagine for a
second if President Bush were to do such a thing. How well do you think
that would fly?
Chalk this up to yet another anti-American move by the
president. I don’t know about you, but for me, Obama’s presidency can’t
end soon enough.
