Anna Hutchison joins Nicolas Cage in Hollywood thriller

Kiwi expat Anna Hutchison has landed a lead role opposite Nicolas Cage.

Kiwi Anna Hutchison has landed a lead role opposite Hollywood star Nicolas Cage in a thriller called Vengeance: A Love Story, which is filming in Atlanta, Georgia.Cage, 52, plays a detective who seeks vengeance against four women who assaulted a single mother in front of her own daughter. Hutchison, 30, plays the woman in question who suffers form survivor’s guilt as she faces down her attackers in the courtroom.

The film aims to explore the impact of that brutal act of violence on three generations of women, The Wrap reports. Cage has said he was excited to work on Vengeance and tell “a tale of the suffering too many women have endured.”

The movie, based on Joyce Carol Oates’ award-winning 2003 novel Rape: A Love Story, has Johnny Martin directing with Cage producing through his production company, Saturn Films.

Kiwi-born Hutchison was a series regular on the final season of Spartacus and co-starred on FX’s Anger Management. She also starred opposite Chris Hemsworth in Drew Goddard’s horror movie Cabin in the Woods.
