Oh no! Beyoncé just started her ‘Formation World Tour’ on Apr. 27 and already she’s abruptly cancelled an upcoming tour stop! What’s even more shocking is that it might have been over poor ticket sales.
Whoa! It’s totally unlike Beyoncé, 34, to just up and cancel a tour stop, but she’s letting down her Nashville Beyhive
by pulling the plug on her Nissan Stadium gig in Music City that was
scheduled for May 5. While she’s still hitting cities just before and
after that date, the question is lingering that she postponed the show
because unlike in other places, this event didn’t sell out!
Beyoncé’s camp failed to
give a reason as to why on less than one week’s notice, she up and
postponed her scheduled stop in Nashville. There had been some chatter
when the sudden announcement
was made Apr. 29 that the venue may not have been ready as there was
some renovation work going on. But that excuse was soon squashed when
the home to the Tennessee Titans tweeted out
that “Nissan Stadium was ready and able to host the May 5 Beyoncé show,
and we look forward to the rescheduled event.” Well there goes that
reason!
Their publicist, Jimmy Stanton
also reiterated that the stadium wasn’t an issue. “Nissan Stadium was
ready and able to host the May 5 Beyoncé show, and we look forward to
the rescheduled event,” he told HollywoodLife.com.
Speculation has been rife that she may have decided to postpone her Nashville stop because unlike most other cities, her show there hadn’t sold out. Those who did have tickets
were advised by her tour promoter Live Nation that, “Details about the
rescheduled date will be announced shortly and Nashville tickets holders
are advised to retain their tickets which will be honored at the
rescheduled event.”
While she may be saying “See y’all” to
Nashville, Bey is still continuing with the surrounding dates, playing
the Carter-Finley Stadium in Raleigh, NC May 3 and NRG Stadium in
Houston, TX May 8. Time will tell whether she makes it back to play in
Music City, where she played the Bridgestone arena in 2013 during the
Mrs. Carter Show World Tour.
HollywoodLifers,
do you think Beyoncé will end up making good on her Nashville
cancellation? Do you think it was unprofessional for her to give no
reason behind the cancellation?
